"In November of 2003, we contacted Mowles Medical Practice Management and WEL Designs to evaluate the possibility of opening an ASC for Pain Management. Amy and Bill evaluated our current volume of patients, referral base, and our goals. They toured numerous sites in our area and helped us select the site for the construction of our facility. They developed a Performa that was detailed and precise.
Amy's insight into the function of ASCs from policies and procedures to billing issues to licensing was invaluable. Amy provided information that was on target. The quality of the information and the amount of time that we saved was incredible. The assistance provided by Amy allowed us to continuing treating patients while developing our ASC.
Bill Lindeman was our medical facility designer. He has many years of experience in medical facility design. The facility that Bill designed for us is wonderful! Patient flow is efficient and has allowed us to see increasing volumes of patients with ease. He was able to make our developer/contractor understand the importance of the specific requirements for ASCs in our state. Bill made several on site visits and helped correct errors in the construction. He acted as our advocate with the developer and prevented us from having a building that did not meet code."

"About 4 years ago, I was working with a client who had been in a prolonged process of developing an ASC but seemed to be nowhere near completion and certification. I told them to call Amy to see if she could help. They were finished and seeing patients within a short time and I have recommended Mowles Medical Practice Management with complete confidence since."

"We hired Mowles Medical to tackle the daunting task of re-negotiating physician fees for our office based procedures. In particular, we asked her to help us educate our major payers on what we do and how we save them money by keeping some of our procedures in the office setting. While this was quite an undertaking, Amy was able to persevere and get most of the payers to agree to rate hikes in our physician fee schedules to help cover our overhead and incidentals—the bottom line is, Amy has helped put more money in our pockets! Hats off to Amy and her staff, they are true professionals."

_______________

"When it comes to setting up, fine-tuning or completely reworking an ASC there is only one person to call: Amy Mowles. Over the years I have done a considerable amount of consulting and worked with many consultants. I have come to realize that, while many who call themselves consultants have a few good ideas and can create value for a small number of isolated clients, few really pass the test of time and consistently create value with every engagement, but that is my experience of Amy. I have never met anyone who has worked with her who did not say hiring Amy was the best thing they could have done for the practice.
Setting up an ASC is almost always the fulfillment of a vision for a group of physicians and we all know how delicate a task it is to tell a doctor that he doesnÂ’t have a clue about what he is really getting himself into. ASC regulations are probably the most complicated area of medical management that I deal with. Every state is different. So many factors must be carefully considered. It is not always easy to sort out the economic, political and strategic dimensions of a project in a clear and compelling way, but Amy always seems to find the right balance between supporting the client’s hopes and aspirations and infusing a solid dose of reality. Amy is truly a fountain of knowledge. Her analysis is rock solid.
You could spend a fortune trying to compile the pieces of her vast knowledge and still never quite achieve the perspective she provides. Her work sets a standard that the rest of us constantly strive to emulate.
I personally find every interaction with her enlightening and entertaining and consider her a valuable friend and professional resource. If too much time has gone by and we have not talked, I can be sure I will get quite a download when we do connect. I just wish I had more reason to call her. She is a lot of fun to work with.
